Respected Verdi Foundation,
Respected Members of Casa Verdi,
With profound respect and gratitude, I extend my sincerest thanks to you all.
On October 11, 2025, following the kind invitation of Professor Roberto Ruozi, President of the Verdi Foundation, I had the honor of visiting Casa Verdi alongside my dear friend, Maestro Plácido Domingo. For me, this day was not merely a visit, but a journey across time—a communion with a great soul.
Guided personally by President Ruozi, I entered this long-admired sanctuary, paid my respects at Verdi’s resting place, and warmly visited the residences of the senior musicians at Casa Verdi.
What touched me most deeply was President Ruozi’s gracious opening of the yet-unopened Verdi Museum, allowing me to gaze closely upon the Master’s manuscripts, belongings, and spiritual legacy. Among these precious fragments of history, I felt as though the heart of Verdi himself was speaking to me—a connection transcending time, borders, nations, faith, and language, both profound and stirring.
It was a calling—music knows no boundaries, art heals the world. The passing on of spirit outlives even the works themselves.
I express my deepest gratitude to the Verdi Foundation, Casa Verdi, and the esteemed President Ruozi. I also thank my dear friend Maestro Domingo, whose companionship added meaning and warmth to this visit.
May the light of Verdi continue to illuminate the path ahead,
and may peace, compassion, and art flow eternally through our world.
Respectfully,
Wu Yue
