On the auspicious occasion of the Buddha's Birthday (8th day of the 4th lunar month), Xizu Temple held a grand prayer ceremony to celebrate this sacred day.
Ceremony Time: May 5, 2025, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Guided by the Buddha's wisdom and the compassionate vow of "unconditional great compassion and shared benevolence," this sacred gathering will bring together devotees and virtuous individuals from East and West. Together, we will ignite lamps of hope for those suffering from war, disaster, and afflictions, praying for world peace and the well-being of all sentient beings.
Through purifying acts such as bathing the Buddha, chanting sutras, offering lamps, vegetarian meals, and flowers, devotees may dispel calamities, prolong life, increase blessings, attain wisdom, and accumulate merits. As the Lotus Sutra states: "If someone, even with a distracted mind, offers a single flower to a painted Buddha image, they shall gradually behold countless Buddhas." Sincere prayers will be blessed by the Buddhas, removing the three obstacles (greed, hatred, and delusion), ensuring health, harmony, and lasting peace for families and the world.
Liberation for the Departed
Through the compassionate power of the Earth Store Sutra, the monastic assembly will chant to liberate the deceased, freeing them from suffering, resolving karmic grievances, and guiding infant spirits to rebirth. The sutra states: "Of all virtuous deeds, the deceased receive one-seventh of the merit, while the living retain six-sevenths for their own benefit." Registration for memorial tablets is now open—light the lamp of liberation for beings in the six realms.
